Cincinnati’s Holiday Season Officially Begins When Macy’s Lights Up the Square
The day after Thanksgiving is when the holiday season really gets into full swing, and Cincinnati residents are invited to celebrate at Macy’s Light Up the Square. On Friday, November 23rd, Fountain Square will transform into a local hub for holiday cheer from 6 to 11 p.m. The main event? The lighting of Macy’s massive holiday tree.
After the tree glows to life, stick around for the rest of the festivities. Go for a spin around the ice-skating rink, enjoy live music by 2nd Wind Band, and grab some hot fare from the local food trucks. You can also kick off your holiday shopping at the Cincideutsch Christkindlmarkt, which debuts the same day at Fountain Square. Browse the many local vendors selling one-of-a-kind holiday gifts throughout the square. Then, at the end of the evening, stick around for the fireworks show.
