Clever Ways to Store Your Bicycle Indoors

Being a cyclist in the city just makes sense. It's easy to avoid rush hour traffic when you're cruising along the bike lane. And since most of the places you go are probably within a span of a few miles, biking is a convenient and eco-friendly way to get around. The only part of being a city cyclist that can get tricky is figuring out where to stow your bike. Keep it safely tucked away indoors using one of these ingenious tools.

  1. A bike shelf. If you want to make stylish use of the blank space in your home, considering installing a bike shelf. It looks like an ordinary floating shelf, so nothing seems amiss when your bike is away, but the body of your bike actually hooks neatly into the shelf and hangs horizontally on the wall. Your cycle instantly becomes a work of art.
  2. A wall mount. You can also go with a less noticeable wall mount, perhaps a small circular mount that locks onto the wall in between a set of windows. You simply hook your bike over the mount and allow it to drape down the wall vertically, allowing ample light inside while still highlighting its sleek frame.
  3. A floor stand. If you don't want to be bothered with installing anything on your walls, a floor stand could be your best bet. It's essentially a cute-looking piece that hugs either side of your bike's front tire, freezing it in place using the weight of the rest of the frame. It still puts your bicycle on display, but no installation is necessary.
