How to Refresh Your Apartment for Autumn

As the leaves on the trees outside transition to fiery autumn hues, you may want to revamp the decor in your apartment to reflect the season, too. No need to complete a total overhaul of the existing aesthetic—get your apartment ready for fall with a few of these quick, easy updates.

  1. Create a cozier living room with new pillow covers and throws. Cooler temperatures outside mean you're going to want to cozy up with a cup of tea and a good book inside. Make your living room extra inviting by grabbing a few new pillow covers made from velvet or another warm, soft material, and finding a comfy throw blanket or two to match.
  2. Center your kitchen table with fall foliage. A simple way to spruce up your apartment's decor is to swap out the table centerpiece. It's easy enough to DIY an assortment of pine cones and fall leaves and arrange them neatly in a decorative bowl, but you can also go with a simple bouquet of autumn flowers in a glass vase.
  3. Bring on the autumn hues. As Mother Nature transforms the outdoors into a rainbow of reds, oranges, and yellows, you can do the same inside. Incorporate a new collection of autumn candles in these signature hues, or add a few new pieces of autumn-themed artwork to the walls in the living room. You can also include some magentas and teals if your color scheme starts looking tired.
